Terms of Service
1. Who I am
Before Doors Open is run by Max Alessandrini, based in Italy. These terms apply to all sessions booked with me. By booking or paying for a session, you agree to them.
2. The service
I offer 1:1 online mentoring sessions for DJs and electronic music producers, covering artist development and career strategy. Sessions take place by video call. The first 30-minute call is free and is there for us to see whether working together is a good fit.
3. Booking
All calls and sessions are scheduled through Calendly (calendly.com), using the booking link I send you. Your booking is confirmed when you receive a Calendly confirmation email. Calendly's own Terms of Use apply to your use of its service.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in euros (EUR) and are the ones shown in the rate sheet or quote I send you at the time of booking. Payment is made in advance through Stripe (stripe.com), using the secure payment link I send you. A session is confirmed once payment is complete. Stripe handles all card details; I never see or store your full card number. You receive a receipt by email after payment. Stripe's Consumer Terms and Privacy Policy apply to your payment.
5. Packages
Session packages are paid in full upfront and are personal to you. Once you have paid, booking each session in the Calendly calendar is your sole responsibility. I do not schedule package sessions on your behalf, and sessions not booked remain unused at your discretion.
6. Rescheduling and cancellation
- You can reschedule or cancel a session free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts, using the link in your Calendly confirmation email.
- Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, count as delivered and are not refunded.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late, the session may be shortened or treated as missed.
7. Refunds and your right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of payment without giving a reason, in line with the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005). To withdraw or request a refund, email beforedoorsopen@pm.me. Your request must:
- Be sent from the same email address you used to purchase your 1:1 sessions.
- Include your full name and the date of your payment.
- Include your Stripe receipt or invoice as proof of payment.
To protect you and prevent fraud, I may ask for proof of identity, such as a copy of a valid ID document, before processing a refund. Any ID you send is used only to verify your request and is deleted once the refund has been processed. Requests that do not meet these conditions, or that cannot be verified, may be delayed or refused.
If you ask for a session to take place within those 14 days, you agree that the service starts before the withdrawal period ends. You then lose the right of withdrawal for any session already delivered. For a package, the refund covers the sessions not yet used, minus the full price of the sessions already delivered.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe within 14 days of your request.
8. My right to decline or end sessions
I reserve the right, at my sole discretion, to decline a booking or to stop providing further sessions to anyone, at any time. This may happen, for example, in cases of disrespectful, abusive or discriminatory behaviour, harassment, repeated no-shows or late cancellations, misuse of the sessions or of materials shared, or any conduct that I consider makes it inappropriate to continue working together.
If I decide to end our work together, I will let you know by email and refund in full, through Stripe, any session you have paid for but not yet received. Sessions already delivered are not refunded. No further compensation is due beyond this refund.
9. What to expect
Sessions offer guidance, feedback and a prioritised plan for your next steps, based on my experience in the music industry. I cannot guarantee specific results, such as bookings, releases, label signings or follower growth. The decisions you make and how you act on them remain your own.
10. Confidentiality and recordings
Anything you share in our sessions, including unreleased music, stays confidential. Sessions are not recorded unless we both agree beforehand. Any notes or plans I prepare for you are for your personal use.
11. Your music and materials
You keep all rights to the music, mixes and materials you share with me. I use them only to prepare for and deliver your sessions.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, my total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the session or package concerned. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. If something goes wrong, please contact me first so we can try to resolve it directly.
14. Changes and contact
I may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you book applies to that booking. For any questions, get in touch through the contact form on this website.
